Roddy McDowall began his career as a child actor on the London stage. He made his first British film at the age of 8, and his first American film at the age of 12. He earned "Film Daily's" Critics Choice Award for his performances in How Green Was My Valley, The Pied Piper, and Lassie Come Home.
