aka Baby Marie Osborne
Jackie Coogan is often credited with being the first major child star. Actually, several young stars preceded him, including Baby Marie Osborne. Baby Marie was considered the most important child star of her day and a favorite with World War I audiences. She often played an orphan in her movies, a role we would later see Shirley Temple play so well. Marie Osborne made 29 movies by the time she was 8-years old, all of them silent movies. Sadly, only a few of them survive today.
